Our Home

The Wedge is more than a residential care home. It’s a place where residents can enjoy the comfort of familiar surroundings, the reassurance of compassionate care and the freedom to live each day in the way that suits them best. Whether relaxing in the garden, enjoying a home-cooked meal or spending time with family and friends, every aspect of life here is centred around making our residents feel at home.

From comfortable bedrooms and welcoming communal spaces to engaging activities and personalised support, we strive to create an environment where residents feel safe, valued and able to enjoy life with confidence.

Comfortable Bedrooms Designed Around You

Every resident has their own private bedroom, providing a peaceful and comfortable space to relax, unwind and enjoy their own independence. Most of our bedrooms benefit from en-suite facilities, offering additional privacy and convenience while ensuring residents feel safe and comfortable in familiar surroundings. We encourage residents to make their room their own by bringing treasured furniture, photographs and personal belongings. Personal touches help create a familiar environment and make settling into life at The Wedge feel as natural and comfortable as possible. After all, this isn’t just a bedroom, it’s home.

Spaces to Relax, Socialise & Unwind

Life at The Wedge extends far beyond each resident’s bedroom. Our welcoming communal spaces provide the perfect setting to spend time with friends and family, enjoy quiet moments of relaxation or simply make the most of each day in comfortable surroundings.

Trusted by Families

Nothing speaks more highly of the care we provide than the experiences of our residents and their loved ones. We’re proud of the lasting relationships we build and grateful for the kind words shared by the families who have entrusted us with their care.

"My mother is very happy at The Wedge and my sister and I have nothing but praise for it. The management and staff are all delightful, responsive and caring and I feel completely confident that she is being well cared for. There are also activities during the week which she attends and which she finds really enjoyable."
- Patricia C
"The Wedge is an exceptional care home: exceptional in the standard of care provided by the staff and in the loving attitude of all the staff. They genuinely loved my mother, were interested in her as a person, sought to understand her, build a real relationship with her and have fun with her. Consequently, she felt valued and worthwhile - very important at this stage of her life. She died in the home in a beautiful atmosphere of love and peace."
- Sue M
"The Wedge cared for my mother for 16 months, October 2015 - January 2017. I was struck by the sensitivity, warmth, commitment and hard work. I could not fault their care and remain deeply grateful. I strongly recommend this wonderful care home. My mother died peacefully in bed in this care home with every part of her needs attended too."
- Peter S
"My mother is resident at The Wedge. She is well looked after. The home is exceptionally clean, great food and the care she received is very caring. Mum is happy and loves the staff."
- Vivien P
"I am very pleased at the consistent, excellent service the management and carers provide for my mum. It is like family rather than being just a resident."
- Julie H
"My godmother had a psychotic episode, which is really out of character; the manager and all the staff were excellent, caring and kind and kept me fully informed at every stage. It was really hard for all staff concerned, but they have also been so lovely and caring about the whole episode."
